Paw Paw Pastry originated from working intensely in professional kitchens for over 20 years, on both coasts. After graduating from the California Culinary Academy-Le Cordon Bleu at the beginning of the the crazy dot-com era in San Francisco, I worked at Galaxy Desserts in R&D, developing cake mixes for William Sonoma and the first line of pastries for Starbucks, before Starbucks had pastries! Craving the fancy, fast paced kitchen life, I went on to work in the pastry kitchens at Boulevard, Nine-Ten restaurant in La Jolla, Hearth in NYC and the Dining Room at the Museum of Modern Art. Lastly and definitely my favorite, I partnered with Charles McMickens to create Fort Grace in Fort Greene Brooklyn, a small outdoor stand, creating delicious, fresh and crazily flavored ice cream and pastries for all our Fort Greene neighbors. I hope to recreate that someday, but in the meantime, you can order cakes, ice cream and pastries from my online shop and have them delivered to your door.
